Ryan layton:

Ryan Layton is majoring in ITI and minoring in DCIM and Business Administration. The reason he joined creative x is to meet other Rutgers students who are interested in design and find a good community to learn from and build off of each other.

I love skiing and ski for more than 40 days each year. I like traveling as well and going to concerts and music festivals.

Kwun Ching (Keith) Wong:

Keith is a senior majoring in Econ and minoring in CS. He joined Creative X because he was always curious about the process of making a user interface of an app or website, and this club is the perfect way to learn more about that process as well as other design philosophies that go into not just web/apps but other things in life as well.

What else are you involved in and out of campus?

I am currently on two e-boards, Rutgers Hong Kong Student Association and Creative X (Expressions) I am also the Social chair for the Hong Kong one and Content Director for Creative X . I am also an Asian American Cultural Center mentor and a member of Verse One, as well as a part-time worker at the Livi Student Center (you will see me a lot at Livingston!)

What are your post-grad plans?

As of right now there isn’t really a set plan for post-grad but obviously like everyone else it would be great to find a job that has a good and supportive environment; ideally, something that allows for more creative freedom.

Currently brainstorming ideas on some content ideas for hksa as well as event recap videos. I also like dancing, karaoke ;), video editing, and photography!

What are your post-grad plans?

Post grad I plan to travel a lot and work remotely 👀😉

Hobbies/Interests or current projects?

Currently interested in learning more about building and helping communities through art and involvement.

Najia Khan:

Najia majors in ITI with a Computer Science minor. She was a co-founder of creative x, her and a group of other students wanted to create a community that would cater to young designers like themselves who don’t have instructional training in digital design. There aren’t really classes pertaining to UX design, and they wanted to share their excitement for the field with other students who might be interested. No matter a student’s major, they wanted the club to be all inclusive and be a space where students can learn new skills and share their work.

What else are you involved with in and out of campus?

Throughout Rutgers, I have been involved in the USACS and WiCS organizations at Rutgers. Right now I’m mostly working as the Design Director for creative x. I also work part-time as a web designer for the Rutgers Douglass Residential College and do work on their website.

What are your post-grad plans?

Hopefully I find a job haha! I would like to work as UI/UX designer, and maybe even work as a freelance graphic designer on the side, but we’ll see how that part works out.

Hobbies/Interests or current projects?

I love creating digital illustrations. The programs I use are Adobe Illustrator and Procreate. I also have a huge fascination with Islamic architecture, and try to incorporate it in my artwork whenever I can.

Karen Luo:

Karen double majors in Design and ITI. She joined Creative X because when she discovered Creative X during the summer after graduating high school, she found their zine work and I found it amazing and she could learn a lot in this club and help her start her journey into learning about ux/ui design.

What else are you involved with in and out of campus?

Besides Creative X, I am also apart of the HC Media Team where I am currently a co-assistant lead for the graphic design team. I also currently work part-time for the Rutgers Libraries under a FDWS as a graphic artist. Other than these this semester, I am buried in schoolwork :’)

What are your post grad plans?

Not entirely sure about post grad stuff, but I hope to be able to dive into UX and UI design for the remainder of my years here at Rutgers and be able to get internships and a job in a UX/UI related field. There is a possibility might slowly transition from graphic design to UX/UI design after grad depending on my situation.

Hobbies/Interests or current projects?

Hobbies: Illustration , exploring different art mediums, reading, passive language learning and like every other guy , I enjoy watching tv shows. Currently trying to finish Doom At Your Service and Shadows House. Current Projects: Nothing necessarily fancy but I am prepping to create my portfolio and resume. A little thing I guess I am doing is that I am helping out with creating/ rebranding collateral for the Rutgers University Libraries.
